We've had our first holiday weekend of the summer and "treasure hunting" season is officially upon us. I'm a sucker for a vintage suitcase and I brought home several during my last adventure. Imagine my delight when I got one of them home and opened it to find 34 small oil paintings tucked inside.
A handful of them are signed and my research has determined that they are vintage works from local artist Jennette Elizabeth Stuebing. According to Kevin's Art Collection Jennette was a Hamilton school teacher from 1922-1939, and started to seriously study art with John Beatty in the early 1930's.
How cool is that?
