In the past I have been been criticized for "destroying" books. I spent 10 years employed with our local library and some see my art as an act of treason against former friends. I choose to think of my actions as an act of love, saving decades old books from the humiliation of the recycle bin. My work is like adding a new final chapter to a story that hasn't been read in years and, while it's very different than the author's original vision the words on the pages are no less beautiful.
On Saturday May 24th my book sculpture "Quiet Amongst The Branches" will be looking for a new home. The Oakville Art Society will be holding their annual auction and I am proud to have a piece of my work included.
