Our eldest daughter spent her teen years as an air cadet and during those years we were humbled by the stories of service that our Veterans shared.
One of the most moving ceremonies held is the decorating of the war graves. Some people are surprised to know that our local airport was a WW2 flight training base and it was here in rural Ontario that many British soldiers learned how to fly. Training accidents occurred and led to these men being buried in a local cemetery. Every year 779 Air Cadet Squadron honours these brave men that took to the skies and lost their lives.
